Introductions

Over the past 15 years I have been lucky enough to have travelled to pretty spectacular places in the world.  I have met some wonderful people and been part of some pretty extraordinary adventures.

Dancing in Addis Ababa

I wasn’t much of a traveler before my current role as an event organiser and, to coin a phrase from B.A Baracus, “I ain’t gettin’ on no plane!”  I’d face most travel with fear and anxiety only alleviated by alcohol and a strict agenda.  I learnt, over time, to get past this and enjoy the experience and today travel seems second nature.  I do spend a lot of time traveling, which I am truly blessed, but it comes at a price so I wanted to use this a way of telling some stories of that travel to my lovely wife and kids.

For some time I’d been meaning to keep a log or journal for their information – to understand a little more about what I’ve been up to when I’m away.  However, I am certainly very happy for anyone else to read these entries and share it with whom they wish.  I hope it goes some way to keeping my family and friends up to date with what I’ve been up to but also help educate my kids on the fun that travel brings.

Yes, truthfully, it was during one of his travels to Ghana that I am lucky and happy to have him as a friend in August, 2015, during a UNWTO conference in Ghana. Ah! Matthew is just a great guy, free, does things simple and ordinarily. His associations, chats, movements, fun is just excellent. “Matthew does not feel ‘a new comer’ any where at any table” He links up tables, he moves with any one, he is just in his right place of work, I mean he loves people…! Because of him, I am just in love with Bench Events…
